The Department is complemented with reserve officers. A new and modern police building houses the Department. Administration is always striving to keep its officers and employees equipped with the most current working equipment and tools available. The Norwalk Police Department has computerized its records and familiarization with computers is a valuable, but not required asset. We also have an emergency response unit called "S.R.T.," an Honor Guard and a Bike Patrol. The Norwalk Police Department offers a reserve police officer program and after two years of service, officers receive 20% additional on their civil service test scores.
